The collaborative heart & soul of the popular designer label Ruffian, Brian Wolk and Claude Morais favor a modern take on the Victorian aesthetic, creating unity through contrast by drawing inspiration from the silver screen, European aristocracy, and America’s rich cultural lexicon. After catching the attention of the world’s leading high-fashion mags, and being inducted into the CFDA just last year, Wolk and Morais have decided to dive into cosmetics, with a Summer 2012 collaboration with MAC. Wolk’s background in fashion & costume design nicely complements Morais’ experience in the fine arts; hence their distinctive haute style that is as romantic as it is ready-to-wear. Naturally, the two are jetsetters, which is why I recently chatted them up about travel, style, and how to flawlessly combine the two.
