As Memorial Day Weekend fast approaches in the U.S. – otherwise known as the unofficial kickoff to the Hamptons season in the Northeast – we’re busy planning our long weekend in the sun and on the sand. Every season brings new cuisine and must-try cocktails. With an abundance of fresh seafood and fine wine, it isn’t hard to find somewhere to satisfy your cravings. Our favorite Hamptonite, Kelli Delaney of KDHamptons.com , let us in on all of the best places to dine this Memorial Day weekend. Check out her site for the best of the Hamptons with all the must do’s over the summer. Here are a few of the new soon-to-be favorites you will definitely find us at this summer!
The standout award this weekend goes to the highly-anticipated opening of The Jue Lan Club, an NYC favorite for both its contemporary Chinese cuisine and its attached nightclub, which just opened in Southampton. The Club has a Chinese underground vibe coupled with an art gallery exhibition featuring an exclusive piece from Keith Herring! The traditional shrimp crystal dumplings are high on our list, and the drunken fried sea bass will be worth the calorie splurge. While their cocktails are perfectly refreshing for a summer’s day, be prepared for a sudden urge to dance the night away next door!
The Greenwich in Water Mill is another new restaurant gracing Hamptonites with its culinary presence this Memorial Day weekend. The watermelon salad and tuna chop are two must-try dishes from the seasonal menu that strives to highlight local food in a simplistic manner. The Greenwich will also feature a curated cocktail program by the Mulberry Project.
If your go-to summer drink is craft beer, then make your way to Southampton Publick House. This award-winning brewery has an array of offerings sure to excite even the most particular beer connoisseur. Our personal favorite is the Southampton Double White which pays tribute to an authentic Belgian white ale. It’s citrus and spice flavors make for the perfect pint!
