S’Up, Surf Diva
Although I have my list of favorite surf spots across the globe, I’ve never been brave enough to test the waters myself – until now. Thanks to Paddle Diva, an East Hampton-based watersports brand, I’ve gained liquid courage of a different kind: mastering SUP, or Stand Up Paddle Boarding. Don’t let the “Diva” moniker fool you – this is a full-fledged workout on the water, great for your core, upper body and legs. And thanks to the serene natural setting, it can be great for your spirit as well. You’d be surprised by what paddle boarding three times a week can do for that bikini bod.
Now entering its third summer, Paddle Diva offers private lessons and eco-themed group tours, gear included. Paddling with your best mates and cruising along Sag Harbor is the ultimate girlfriend getaway (although guys should be up for the challenge, too). Beyond the Hamptons, I’d recommend checking out global SUP spots such as Paddleboard Miami, Australia’s Sand Reef or Paddle Surf Hawaii, where the sport originated.
