New York City at Christmas time is a beautiful thing. The nights sparkle with fairy lights in the trees and carols can be heard while you order your Venti Red Eye at Starbucks. I'm a sucker for the window displays at Bergdorf Goodman — particularly the 58th Street window with the Lorena Sarbu dress…winter wonderland, indeed.
With luxury stores dripping in even more decadence than usual, it can be a bit of a challenge not to keep a running list for Santa in your head while shopping for gifts. This year, I finished shopping early (#humblebrag), and am ready to dedicate my musings to dancing sugar plums and Saint Laurent duffels.
My top choice for the ultimate stocking stuffer is the exquisite Power pin from jewel design powerhouse (and fellow Aussie) VISNJA JEWELS. I love Visnja's "Extravagant Minimalism" approach to her pieces; she creates gems with the power to empower. The Power pin is a platinum starburst with 1,050 diamonds (not a typo) and would look simply fabulous on say, my favorite cashmere anything.
Another new addiction is Le Labo's simply designed and sinfully fragrant candles — I got a whiff of the Petit Grain 21 and am planning on visiting the newly-opened shop in Flatiron for a chance to treat myself. The Petite Grain 21 has elegant orange blossom notes — it's like wandering through a garden in Seville.
So while I am looking forward to seeing my mates faces light up when I give them their gifts, I'm also thinking I may wrap up a little surprise for myself…
