Once relegated to the dusty halls of senior centers, bingo is back – and with a vengeance. This October, NYC will be visited by vampy costumes, sequins, flashing disco balls, pulsating music…and bingo ball cages.
Rebel Bingo, the party masterminds behind the reinvigoration of your grandmother’s go-to, thought of the idea after stumbling across an old bingo set in the basement of an old London cathedral where they used to throw parties. Their thought process? Take a bingo kit; add equal parts alcohol, insane pageantry, sequins, high-energy, over-sized stuffed pandas, and a ceiling full of confetti to create a mutant form of an old classic. Oh, and lest I forget, a Ludacris “Move Bitch” soundtrack at the ready – you’ll have to show up to see why.
Ticket prices range from $10-$22 and the show will be performed in LA at 333 Live on October 11th and in NYC Irving Plaza October 17, 18, 24, & 25. I know I’ll be there with bells (and perhaps a saucy sequined number) on – and trust me, I play to win.
