The Pacific Northwest’s locavore lifestyle is so hot right now! It seems to be the topic du jour on all my favorite foodie blogs, and for good reason, as it’s absolutely inspiring and delicious. While I won’t be able to make it over to Oregon for the Feast Portland event in September, I am planning to get my Portland fix in New York at City Grit, an eclectic foodie venue in NYC’s Nolita, serving up supper club-style dinners.
Portland’s top chefs will descend upon NYC today through August 16, and guests will have the chance to nosh on a five-course Oregon-inspired menu, paired with local wines and beers. Look out for Cathy Whims of Portland’s Nostrana and Oven & Shaker, known for her ‘simple food with honest ingredients’ and Sarah Schafer of Irving St. Kitchen, whom I’m hoping will be serving a side of her famous Cornbread with Bourbon Butter Glaze.
Tickets are $85 and can be purchased online at www.citygritnyc.com.
If the thought of a Pacific Northwest feast tickles your taste buds as much as it does mine, be sure to check out this month’s issue of The Travel Curator for my personal picks from the region.
