With a spruce tree standing tall and a skull of a bull marking the entrance, Urban Cowboy B&B is quite the boutique hotel in Brooklyn’s iconic Williamsburg neighborhood. This five-room gem of a property screams Americana in the best possible way. The Adirondacks-style hotel comes with a sauna, hot tub and a cabin in the backyard, with the staff shining equally in hospitality as they do in charm. Creator Lyon Porter has carefully considered every aspect and created the ideal environment reminiscent of an upstate New York getaway, without the obligatory 4-6 hour drive!
The home is a personal reflection of Porter's Ohio upbringing, creating the ultimate sense of place. I find the cabin to be the most unique aspect, as a Native American rug hangs on the wall and iron cups and wooden utensils hang above the stove. The walls are wood-paneled and an antler chandelier lights the room to round out the experience and bring out the city slicker in us all.
The townhouse creates a unique, whimsical urban retreat with exposed brick walls, industrial garage doors, and a winding staircase that leads to four rooms. The entire experience is true authentic luxury and the best of Brooklyn. Urban Cowboy B&B has been so successful that a second property is already in the works, set to open this April in Tennessee’s East Nashville neighborhood.
